Justin Edinburgh Foundation

Just before we sign off for Christmas, everyone at Shoot the Company is very proud to have teamed up with Scamp Solutions this month to lend our support to the JE3 Foundation. Established by the family of Justin Edinburgh to spread information about heart and cardiac issues and implement legal change around defibrillators, the JE3 Foundation was launched on 14th December at a gala fundraising dinner, where the two films about Justin’s life were premiered. English law does not currently regard defibrillators as compulsory equipment at sports facilities and as Justin suffered his cardiac arrest at a gym aged only 49, ‘Justin’s Law’ could potentially save hundreds of lives which would be a fitting tribute to one of football’s big personalities. Happy Christmas everyone.

Only a few sleeps to go until Christmas and who better to get us into the holiday spirit than Peter Crouch, who is looking forward to his first football-free festive period in 21 years. Crouchy has teamed up with McDonald’s this year to lend his acting skills to voice ‘The Christmas Adventures of Archie’, McDonald’s annual Christmas book. For those that remember Jackanory, Crouchy is a shoo-in if the long-running children’s TV Series is ever revived. Willow the cockney badger is our particular favourite.

Booking.com – David Villa

I know we’re all getting ready for Christmas and wrapped up in our winter woolies here in London but before you know it, the days will be getting longer and UEFA EURO2020 will be just around the corner. We teamed up with Booking.com and Spain legend David Villa at Wembley last week to get his top tips on the players to watch out for in June and July. With 12 host cities in 12 different countries, EURO2020 will offer the opportunity for a good, old-fashioned continental road-trip for football fans. Give yourselves plenty of time if you need to get from Baku to Dublin!

Gold Winner – Cannes Corporate Media and TV Awards 2019

It’s a campaign that started life in the hills of Merthyr Tydfil in Wales and has taken Shoot the Company across Europe to over 25 countries as we tell the story of footballers who have one thing in common: A passion for the game. Last night UEFA and Shoot the Company picked up a prestigious Gold award in Cannes for the Best use of Film and Video in a Campaign, an award that is truly shared by all the amazing people we have met along the way. Jane in North Macedonia, Zehra in Germany, Baris in Turkey, Paul in Manchester and many, many others, this one’s for you!

Audi e-tron Charge Ahead

It’s pretty clear we’ll all be driving electric cars very soon but how many of us have the confidence to take an e-vehicle on a road trip abroad, off-road or to a go-kart track? Shoot the Company teamed up with Audi to put the e-tron through its paces and to bust some of these myths. Our presenters Georgie Barrat and Ortis Deley made it all the way from London to Brussels, driving through three countries in one day. They even had time for a vaguely tuneful rendition of Electric Avenue along the way. Eddy Grant, you were sorely missed.

UEFA #EqualGame – Scotland

Everyone at Shoot the Company is very proud of our latest film for UEFA’s EqualGame campaign featuring Aberdeen fan Malcolm Steele. Only four years ago Malcolm was diagnosed with Alzeheimer’s at the age of 52 and his beloved Dons are helping him and others with dementia remain active and stay part of the club and community through football reminiscence. The ‘Football Memories’ group is held monthly at Pittodrie stadium where participants get the chance to see unique memorabilia, hear stories about famous matches and reminisce about Aberdeen through the decades. That famous 2-1 victory over Real Madrid in the 1983 European Cup Winners’ Cup is a particular favourite of Malcolm and Aberdeen fans everywhere.
