#EqualGame – Italy

Abubacarr still

A trip to Sicily for Shoot the Company to start 2018 with the inspiring story of Abubacarr, a 16 year old from The Gambia who bravely endured a harrowing journey across Africa in search of a better life in Italy. A talented footballer, Abubacarr is helped by a local organisation set up to assist refugees and asylum seekers which is supported by the Italian FA (FIGC). Football is a major part of Abubacarr’s integration into European life and as he’s a big fan of Xabi Alonso, perhaps one day he will follow his idol and play for Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Liverpool.

MSC Cruises

MSC Seaside

It’s a little chilly in London EC2 at the moment, so the thought of going on a Christmas cruise in the Caribbean aboard the new MSC Seaside is a very attractive prospect. Shoot the Company headed out to Italy recently to film aboard the new ship as it floated out of the shipyard for the first time and the naming ceremony takes place in Miami on 22nd December before she heads off on her maiden voyage. At over 300 metres long, with 17 passenger decks and a custom-designed multi-story aqua park, the 5,179 passengers are all going to have a very warm and luxurious Christmas on board.

Barclays Diversity Business Awards 2017

BDBA 2017 - DN - Mark Amario v5.0 (subs) YouTube0

One of our annual autumn highlights at Shoot the Company is the Barclays Diversity Business Awards and 2017 is the 5th year in a row that we have produced the video content for this inspiring event. As always it was a real honour to tell the stories of all 18 nominees for the awards, filming in Chennai, New York, Delaware, Leeds, Liverpool, Cardiff, Manchester and London, to showcase a wide variety of dynamic people driving Diversity and Inclusion across Barclays.

And the winner is…

Shoot the Company are delighted to announce that UEFA #EqualGame was last night awarded the 2017 International Olympic Committee Grand Prize at the Sportel Awards in Monaco. Judged by a panel of high-profile sports and media personalties, the competition rewards the most beautiful sports videos of the year and this specific award was presented to #EqualGame as it best embodies Olympic values. Peter Klomp, Head of Corporate Comms at UEFA received the award from Prince Albert of Monaco (Beautifully groomed beard Peter!) and Shoot the Company are very proud that the hard work and commitment that has gone into producing #EqualGame has been recognised with such a prestigious honour.

Autumn 2017 update

Look, a gratuitously cute picture of a baby fox to represent the mellow drift into Autumn. No ‘sitting on a half reap’d furrow sound asleep’ for Shoot the Company I’m afraid, we’re far too busy. With crews shooting in Rio, Trieste, Barcelona, Skopje, Manchester and London in the next few weeks it’s going to be a hectic run up to Christmas; and on top of that we’ve got to make time for trick or treating, fireworks and stirring the Christmas pudding.

UEFA #EqualGame

dab 1

After a year in development and production, Shoot the Company will be settling down with a celebratory cuppa in front of the UEFA Champions League coverage this evening to watch the first broadcast of our 30″ TV Ad. Featuring grassroots and elite players from across Europe, we have worked very closely with UEFA to develop the documentary-style creative approach which best communicates the #EqualGame message of inclusion, authenticity and openness and brings all levels of the European football community closer together. Our level is less ‘stylish Pogba dab’ and more in line with walking footballer Eddie Thomas from Wales.
